KIGNET

The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with over forty chambers of economy from the whole Poland is executing the project KIGNET – the Chamber auxiliary system for Polish enterprises’ competitiveness. The project KIGNET is designed to increase Polish enterprises’ competitiveness through the widening of the offered services’ range, its quality’s raise and expansion to new groups of companies.

The competitiveness of Polish enterprises is low and, considering the aspect of economy, has unsteady bases. It is proved by various statistic and economic data. The necessity to ensure the competitiveness of Polish economy does not result only from its condition but also it is Polish companies’ coming onto the European Uniform Market which leads to the encounter with the enterprises which benefit from the union assistance.

One of the significant aspects of the improvement of Polish enterprises’ competitiveness is effective operating and the institutional environment of the economic activity fulfilling the entrepreneurs’ requirements. The assistance of the development of Polish enterprises’ competitiveness is one of the KIGNET project’s responsibilities. The KIGNET project is executed in the confines of 1.1.2 Sector Operating Programme – Enterprises’ competitiveness Growth and is partly financed by the European Fund of Regional Development.

KIGNET - the Chamber auxiliary system for Polish enterprises’ competitiveness is a functional Polish nationwide chain which offers high quality services for the companies. The chain’s activity is based on the auxiliary institutions for the entrepreneurship, which are the economic chambers. Those who benefit from the project directly are the companies which will profit by the projects’ results: the offer of business organizations services which will be wider and more available, both in terms of geography and amount.

The project which is planned to finish on September 30, 2007, is mainly aimed to expand and increase both range and quality of the services offered by the chambers for a long period of time by creating the mechanism of their self-contained development, working out the complex strategies, which will provide Polish entrepreneurs with advisory and training services of the highest level. Arising of the adequately developed uniform chain will level the negative developmental differences of the enterprises of different regions and increase Polish companies competitiveness.

The significant part of the KIGNET chain, which associates 43 organizations, consists of content-related and functional service organizations such as the chambers interested in the particular region as well as the products and some services created and offered within the confines of these organizations.

Furthermore, the KIGNET chain’s activity contributes, both at the micro (enterprises) and macro level (Polish economy) to the moderation of the problems connected to the companies restructuring, employment promotion and unemployment reduction, including the vocational practice of young people, equal chance for women on the labour market, entrepreneurship promotion, innovations and popularisation as well as the activities aimed to create the informational society in the entrepreneurs’ environment and the business organizations.
